The Milwaukee 300' Fiberglass Open Reel Long Tape Measure is a heavy-duty layout tool designed for long-distance measuring where steel blades would be too heavy, too rigid, or prone to kinking.

Instead of steel, it uses a fiberglass-reinforced blade, which is:

• Non-conductive (safer around electrical work)
• More flexible and resistant to corrosion
• Less likely to permanently deform (no kinks like steel blades)

This model is built for construction layout, surveying, fencing, and grading work, where you’re measuring long runs and don’t need ultra-fine precision like finish carpentry.

It includes Milwaukee’s Grime Guard™ blade wiper system, which helps keep dirt and debris from entering the reel housing, improving reliability in muddy or dusty jobsite conditions.

The reel also uses reinforced 3:1 metal planetary gearing, which provides smoother, more durable rewind action compared to cheaper open reels.
