WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
We started small. In 1952, our founder Dale Reese opened our first location in Ogden, Utah. He slept in the warehouse and built everything from the ground up — even manufacturing our own plastic pipe under the name Standard Plastics. By the mid-1970s, we’d grown to seven locations across Utah, Idaho, and Oregon.
MODERNIZATION
In 1992, Dale passed the torch to the next generation. Richard Reese took over Standard Plumbing Supply and began a new chapter of aggressive growth and modernization. Over the next decade, we expanded to over 70 branches, built a major headquarters in Sandy, Utah, and put a strong focus on showrooms — something we’ve become known for today.
DIVERSIFICATION & INNOVATION
As the company continued to evolve, we expanded beyond plumbing into HVAC, hydronics, irrigation, and more. We launched Standard Logistics, developed centralized warehouse systems, and created Sprinkler World and Standard Air Supply. We even began hosting annual trade shows that now bring in thousands of customers and vendors each year.
WHERE ARE WE NOW?
Today, we’re proud to have over 100 locations in 9 western states, more than 1,000 employees, and 51 full-service showrooms. We're still family-owned, with the third generation now stepping into leadership roles — helping us stay true to our roots while preparing for what’s next.

OUR CORE VALUES
DRIVEN BY STANDARDS. DEFINED BY EXCELLENCE.
Whether it’s helping a contractor find exactly what they need on short notice, designing a showroom experience that inspires homeowners, or running smooth internal logistics behind the scenes — we never settle for “good enough."
After 70+ years and 100+ locations, we’re still guided by the same principle: If it has our name on it, it has to be excellent.
THE CUSTOMER IS THE BOSS
Standard strongly believes that the customer holds ultimate power—“the boss”—and every aspect of the business centers on serving that boss respectfully and efficiently, whether through online tools or in‑store assistance.
WHERE QUALITY MEETS COMMITMENT
Accountability means taking full responsibility for our actions, our commitments, and the outcomes we create — without shifting blame, making excuses, or hiding behind others. At Standard Plumbing Supply, we own our work, honor our word, and continuously learn from both success and failure.
