The Crescent Nicholson curved-tooth files are flexible for rapid work on cast iron, bronze, lead, Babbitt, or aluminum. These files doesn't have a tang or handle, with a hole in either side of the body instead for mounting. The pitch and rake of the teeth are designed to avoid pinning or binding, while providing the smoothest possible finish.
